The grant behind Eco-Flow

Our work is supported through the BBSRC Bioinformatics and Biological Resources Fund (24BBR) — a £7 million scheme that backs the tools, databases and biological resources UK bioscience depends on. The fund exists to secure the sustainable provision of high-quality, FAIR biological data and cutting-edge bioinformatics software, treating them as the critical research infrastructure they have become, and to mature project-scale resources into lasting, community-facing services.

The 24BBR call placed a particular spotlight on plant health and agriculture, with additional support for proposals tackling pests and pathogens. Eco-Flow sits squarely within those aims: we build reproducible, open Nextflow pipelines for agri-ecology and evolutionary biology, and grow the community and skills needed to run them.
